Every diver knows that the most aggressive fish in the sea is a damselfish. Due to its highly territorial behavior, it chases away anything and anyone that comes even slightly too close to its home. But one of the damselfish species is known for something else as well.

Big win for manta rays and devil rays

In November 2025, the 20th CITES conference in Uzbekistan decided that manta rays and devil rays needed better protection. The result? The international commercial trade of manta rays and devil rays is now banned worldwide. A huge success!
