Hi,
I am Lea and I grew up in Germany where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Management in Organic and Sustainability Business. After graduating, I chose a different path and began working as a scuba diving instructor. Countless hours underwater have deepened my love for the ocean and its incredible diversity. One of the most defining moments of my life was moving from Europe to the Caribbean, where I saw my first coral in real life. What should have been a moment of pure joy quickly turned bittersweet — the coral was sick and already dying. Within just one year, I witnessed the reef decline in ways I wish my eyes had never seen.

Governments did little, local scientists worked tirelessly to protect what remained, and tourists often seemed indifferent, visiting for only a week or two. I felt devastated that the loss of such a treasure could go almost unnoticed. We are at a critical point where there may soon be no return. And yet, when we turn on the TV or scroll through social media, we are met with distractions and “trash content” instead of urgent coverage of the climate crisis. This has to change.
Writing this blog is my way of learning, sharing, and doing what I can to protect the ocean. With each article, I dive deeper into ocean conservation, fish behavior, and the impacts of climate change — and I invite you to learn and take action with me.
